CannaComply

Built for NY Dispensaries, by Compliance Experts

Why We Built This

Dispensary owners shouldn't need a $500/hour attorney to know if their website is compliant. New York's cannabis advertising rules are dense, spread across multiple regulatory parts, and updated without much notice. Most operators don't find out they have a problem until an OCM enforcement letter lands on their desk — along with a five-figure fine.

We built CannaComply so any dispensary can check their site in under two minutes, understand exactly what's wrong, and fix it before the state does it for them.

What We Check

Our engine audits your website against 23+ regulations drawn from 9 NYCRR Parts 128 and 129, covering age-gate requirements, mandatory warning statements, prohibited health and medical claims, restricted terminology, required disclosures, and more. Every rule is mapped to the specific regulatory citation so you know exactly which provision applies.

How It Works

When you submit your URL, our scanner launches a headless browser that crawls every page of your site — just like a real visitor would. Each page is checked against the current December 2025 PLMA regulations using a two-layer analysis engine: deterministic pattern matching for hard requirements (age gate, warning text, license number) and AI-powered contextual analysis for nuanced rules (health claims, appeals to minors, misleading language).

The result is an evidence-backed compliance report with exact citations, specific page URLs, quoted text from your site, and a clear remediation roadmap — not vague recommendations.

Our Commitment to Accuracy

Compliance tools are only useful if you can trust them. We take accuracy seriously at every level:

  • Three-tier fine model based on Cannabis Law §16 — first, second, and subsequent violations are calculated separately, so your estimated fine exposure reflects how OCM actually enforces.
  • False positive prevention — our exclusion engine filters out warning disclaimers, legal text, brand names, and cultivar names before flagging anything. A prohibited term inside a required warning is not a violation.
  • Rapid rule updates — when OCM publishes regulatory changes, our rules database is updated within 48 hours so your scan always reflects current law.
